Dear Members,

Welcome to an exciting new year! Thank you for entrusting me and our team to lead our chapter for a second year as it is a great honor to continue to be given the opportunity to build on the prior successes of our Chapter. My deepest appreciation goes out to each and every one of you that has contributed over the years to make ISACA Orange County what it is today. There are a lot of people that have made a difference and I am excited that this year’s board is ready to continue with this chapter’s legacy. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome our new board members for 2010/2011: David Barton, Vice President, David Suh, Treasurer, Sal Sarabosing, Secretary, Patty Schell, Past President, Carlos Amaya, Director of Marketing and Communications, Don O’Hair, Director of Programs, Jason James, Director of Membership, Todd Plesco, Education Director, Gwen Braman, Newsletter Editor, Jason Uhlman, Logistics, Miguel Lopez, Webmaster, Luis Garay, Webmaster, and Sara Laflash, Special Projects.

I hope that all of you were able to enjoy your summer. I was fortunate enough to compete in a triathlon, take a short trip over to Hawaii, and also take on a new position for work so I have certainly kept busy during the summer months. But, I am very excited for our new year to begin at ISACA!

We have many exciting events in store and our focus this year is, once again, to invest in our Membership and to strive to provide high quality educational programs to our community.

Our new board has been busy ramping up and preparing for the upcoming year. One of our first orders of business is to attend the Western PCM Leadership Conference held in Los Angeles on the weekend of August 20th

Our 1st meeting to kick off the new-year is almost here! We are very excited to be able to offer a full-day training seminar on investigations and forensics with the ACFE. Elizabeth Henderson, Scott Weitzman, Sergio Kopelev, Charles Balot, Michael Tashman, and Tibor Machan will be our speakers on September 14th at 8:00AM at the Turnip Rose in Orange. Make sure you register for our event as soon as possible. It’s an exciting opportunity to earn 8 CPE’s in the fall, our first such offering in the history of ISACA OC!!

For those of you that have not seen, we have a new look and feel on our global website at ISACA, I encourage you to take a look and get acquainted with the valuable benefits and resources that are available to you as a member. I also encourage you to get involved with our Chapter, to participate and volunteer your time and ideas and give back to our profession. We are always looking to leverage the enormous talent in our membership.

Best Regards,

Kent Kieffer, CISA, CPA, CFA

ISACA Orange County, President
